Aunt Leah’s understands that getting (and keeping) your first job is a key part of the journey into adulthood. Our employment training program takes a holistic approach, helping participants build individual employment plans that are thoughtfully co-created with our dedicated employment specialists.
Alongside planning we offer help with resume writing, job search and interview skills, job skills training and experience, and access to financial support.

Social Enterprise Employment Training
Aunt Leah’s Social Enterprise Employment Training Program is an experiential learning program designed to help youth connected to the foster care system obtain an entry level position in the retail industry. Over the course of 8 weeks of training at Aunt Leah’s Thrift Store and Aunt Leah’s Donation Center, participants gain experience in customer service, inventory management, sales techniques, fashion concepts, and point of sale systems. Along with learning retail specific skills, participants also learn about goal setting, teamwork, organization, time management, positive communication, giving and receiving feedback, problem solving, and professionalism.
Graduates leave with a job reference and valuable job and life experience.
