BOOKKEEPER/OFFICE MANAGER
Part- Time- 20 hours a week- Monday to Friday 12:30-4:30– $15.00- $20.00 an hour depending on experience– About the Position: Aunt Leah’s Society is hiring for the position of Bookkeeper/Office Manager to oversee all aspects of the financial and operational needs of the organization. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeper– • Prepare/Assist with daily journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations • Assist with monthly/year-end closings and preparation of monthly financial statements • Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable • Prepare tax computations and returns • Assist with payroll administration • Account/bank reconciliations • Oversight and tracking of all revenues • Reconcile all account/ banking transactions • Review and process expense, mileage reports • Perform daily routines and month end procedures • Assist with maintaining internal financial controls and procedure • Experience/knowledge with charitable taxes and donations • Preparation for annual external audits Office Manager– • Office inventory • Insurance coverage • Maintenance of office equipment • Liaison with vending partners • Some reception and employee queries required Desired Qualifications — • Experience in public/non-profit accounting, • Knowledge of Canada Revenue payroll requirements and • Charitable tax receipting guidelines are assets • Post-secondary education in accounting or finance • Solid knowledge of Quick Books Accounting Software • Prior experience in Payroll & Benefits/RRSP Administration is an asset • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted principles, concepts, and best practices and procedures • Highly organized, detailed oriented and committed to quality work • Strong analytical and problem solving skills • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision • Superior computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook Additional Information and Requirements– • Applicants must be willing to undergo a criminal background check • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle~~ Salary Range: $15.00-$20.00/ per hour Contact kshaw@auntleahs.org ATTENTION: Human Resources Manager
FULL TIME SEASONAL ASSISTANT TREE LOT MANAGER
40 hours a week~ We are looking for individuals who have the ability to demonstrate: • strong oral communication skills • knowledge of working and or selling trees • knowledge/experience around working with volunteers • work independently • ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions Responsibilities: • Representing Aunt Leash’s Society in a positive/professional way • Opening and closing of tree lots each day • Assisting with tree lot set-up prior to opening • General Lot Maintenance (sweeping up, keeping things orderly • Daily Cash reconciliation • Daily bank deposits • Assist with all tree deliveries during season • Tree lot clean up when season is done • Must be knowledgeable about: different types of trees, tree care, and where trees come from • Maintain an excellent level of customer service at all times • Must have access to a vehicle • Must be available to remain on call during contract • Applicants must be willing to undergo a criminal record check • Must be physically able to lift heavy items • Hold a valid BC driver’s license Oversight of Volunteer Responsibilities • Volunteer Orientation • Ability to supervise Volunteers • Remain present at volunteer shift change • Maintaining food/beverages for volunteers • Liaise with Volunteer Coordinator • Attend volunteer appreciation dinner Contract Details • Contract Nov 20th- Dec 22,2012 • Working 5 days a week • Flexible work hours • Salary 2150.00 for duration of contract Aunt Leah’s Society is an Equal Opportunity Employer. RELIEF RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER
Aunt Leah’s Society is hiring for the position of Relief Residential Support Worker to cover shifts in a residence for teen mothers and their babies. Applicants must have post secondary education in the social service sector with a minimum of one-year experience providing support to moms and babies. Applicants must also have a valid First Aid Certificate prior to hiring. Shifts are 12.5 hours and applicants must be available to work overnight awake shifts.
